NEW HOME BUILDER OFFERINGS CANNOT COMPETE WITH EXISTING HOME ASK PRICES

Per the Calculated Risk Blog, when comparing new and existing home sales, new home builders cannot compete with existing home sellers due to the discounted lender owned property offering. "The gap is due mostly to the flood of distressed sales. This has kept existing home sales elevated, and depressed new home sales since builders can't compete with the low prices of all the foreclosed properties."
